TALKING PICTURES Awards Deadline Nears


Have you already sent your books in time for the TALKING PICTURES awards deadline? Good! You’ll be pleased to know you’re in good company.

So far, the New York Rights Fair office here at Publishers Weekly has received about 400 submission packages. Wow!

If you haven’t yet sent in your submission, have no fear.

Your books must arrive no later than end of day Thursday, February 7, 2019.

Send them right now, and chances are very good we’ll receive them in time.

Here are the submission instructions to mail your books now:

Send ONE copy of your book to:
New York Rights Fair c/o Publishers Weekly
BOOK CATEGORY HERE [i.e. “Children’s,” “Cookbook,” etc]

With your physical book submission, you must include this information:
1. Award Category
2. Book Title
3. Authors and Illustrators
4. Publication Date
5. Publisher and Imprint
6. Publisher Contact Name
7. Publisher Contact Email

A book can be considered for up to two categories. Please label submissions with both categories to be considered.

Here are the categories:

• Contemporary Art and Photography
• Architecture and Graphic Design
• Children’s Picture Books
• Comic Books and Graphic Novels
• Cookbooks

Go to the post office and mail your books.

Or call UPS or FedEx or DHL to come collect your package.

When you get home from the post office, then submit the PDFs of your submission titles, following the instructions here.

The TALKING PICTURES awards deadline is February 7, 2019.

Selection Process
Judges will select three winners and special mentions in each category.

Judging takes place February 8 – 9, 2019.

The expert panel of jurors includes Publishers Weekly editors, representatives from Parsons School of Design, BolognaFiere and the Hamelin Cultural Association and special guest judges known for their visual art expertise.

Books must be received by the deadline.
